Always keeping the best welfare of our young people in mind, Marymound programs work together, joining forces to provide the best possible combination of services and support to benefit young people and their families. The Receiving Home, Treatment Foster Care and Futures provide a continuum of programming that offers a rich resource for local families.

Receiving Home

Children and teens (0-17 years) waiting for long term arrangements find a welcoming home-like group environment at the emergency receiving home at Marymound North. Staff is highly trained in cultural awareness, behaviour management, trauma awareness, grief and loss, Early Childhood Development, first aid and non-violent crisis intervention. They are also well-versed in the effects of sexual abuse, sexual exploitation and gang involvement in adolescents.

Family-focused practice encourages supervised family visits so children remain connected to their families. Marymound North staff work closely with schools, ensuring that children’s education is not compromised. When the school year is over, summer programming keeps our young people busy and active.

Young people and their families access the Receiving Home through referral by their child welfare authority.
