Young Parents Program
Young Parents Program
Having a baby is a challenge for all new parents. If you are a teen parent who has lived in care for much of your life, you may not feel prepared for all the changes and responsibilities a child places on you. Marymound’s Young Parents Program can help.
The Young Parents Program provides assistance, advice and advocacy to youth ages 16 – 21 receiving services from Child and Family Services requiring assistance and support in parenting.
Marymound’s Family Enhancement Facilitators offer direct support and guidance with parenting and independent living. Right within the home they will assist the youth with the necessary life skills and day-to-day tasks for parenting, while ensuring safety and care of both parent and child.
Marymound will also assist with reunification plans as agreed upon with Child and Family Services. Our Facilitators with help the youth with transportation to and from visits, supervising visits, parenting classes, court/legal appointments, and other case specific requirements set out with the collaborative goal that fits all parties involved.
After Hours Support
Youth in the Independent Options Program can call our After Hours Support Line for advice and assistance with urgent concerns. A staff member is always available to help.
