School’s Cool!
A Learning Readiness Course for
Children Ages 3-5

Going to school every day is a new and exciting (sometimes scary) experience for young children. School’s Cool aims to take the fear out of that first day and replace it with happy anticipation and confidence. Kindergarten teachers have reported that children who attended School’s Cool settle in better and are more ready for the school environment.

School’s Cool introduces children aged 3-5 to a rich variety of new and enjoyable school-related experiences and helps them develop the skills they will need to succeed in school.

School’s Cool is a 24-session course, most commonly offered for 24 consecutive half-day sessions, but this format/schedule can be adapted if necessary.

Children will learn:
• ABCs and 123s
• how to write their name
• hold scissors
• their address and phone number
• songs
• nursery rhymes
• colours
• months of the year and days of the week… and much more!

They also make new friends in a setting that provides a balance between individual and group activities. Each activity is divided into age-appropriate developmental levels.

Parents also take part

Parents get to be involved too. There is at least one session for parents, to help them better understand and build on their child’s learning processes, and, as their child’s first “teacher,” appreciate their value and the power of their influence.
