Marymound School students learn responsibility, a good work ethic and about the importance of contributing to their community through various initiatives. Here are just some of the activities in which the students are involved:

- Development of a community garden in partnership with Seven Oaks Seniors Link, Home Depot and the West Kildonan Horticultural Society,
- Community snow removal for seniors
- Maintenance of the Hearts in Motion trail in partnership with the Neighbourhood Resource Network.
- Development of bicycle maintenance technical education class, teaching basic mechanical and problem-solving skills. Students also refurbish used bikes to send to Mexico for children who can’t afford bicycles.
In 2007, students from Marymound and St. John’s High School helped brighten up the North End with a mural at 1400 Main Street depicting the iconic Winnipeg band, The Guess Who.
Another mural is located on the side of Naleway Caterers on Main Street and Luxton and the Marymound School gym is adorned with a student-designed and painted mural.
