Outline of Programs and Services

Managed Care

The goal of this program is to provide a continuum of care to young people at risk in the community. The program aims to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of the young person on a 24-hour basis. It offers group living (both secure care and community group care). Young people and their families access this program through referral by their child welfare authority.

Community Group Care
Marymound has a number of group care facilities in Winnipeg, each specializing in caring for specific populations. These are designed for young people who require and will benefit from a structured, community-based living arrangement with professional caregivers. All group home residents have access to clinical services, spiritual care and Aboriginal cultural services. All youth attend either the local community school or Marymound School.

Secure Care
Adolescents at high risk of harm to themselves or others benefit from a very structured, secure setting. Marymound has two secure care units that help maintain youths' safety and stabilize their behaviour. All secure care residents attend Marymound School, have access to treatment and support resources, including psychiatric consultation and support, spiritual care and Aboriginal cultural services.

Foster Care

Individuals, couples and families who have specialized training and/or expertise in working with boys and girls who are at-risk, provide 24-hour care in their homes. Young people and families access the program through referral by their child welfare authority.
